1982 G.I. Joe: The Original 13 and the First Vehicles
1982 is where G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero starts. Hasbro released thirteen 3¾-inch figures, the Original 13, in the straight-arm format, together with the first Cobra troops and a small set of vehicles: the MOBAT tank, the VAMP jeep, the RAM motorcycle, the HAL laser cannon, the MMS missile system, the FLAK cannon and the JUMP jet pack. In 1983 the figures were re-issued with the swivel-arm battle grip; those are the versions listed here as v1.5.
What is available from 1982
The 1982 section at Gijoeforsale is small and changes with what comes in. The MOBAT and the Cobra trooper in its v1.5 version are the regulars. Original 13 figures in good condition sell quickly, so this page is worth checking back on. Because the 1982 and 1983 lines overlap, the 1983 page usually holds more from the same era, including the Skystriker and the swivel-arm re-releases.
