The Cobra Firebat was released in 1986 as part of G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero. Although many collectors think of it as a standalone vehicle, it was originally packaged exclusively with the Cobra Terror Drome playset, together with the A.V.A.C. (Air Viper Advanced Class) pilot. It was later offered separately through Hasbro mail-away promotions.
