Dreadnok Battle Axe

Overview

The Dreadnok Battle Axe is a 1988 Dreadnoks Motorized Action Pack from the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero line. Rather than being a conventional vehicle, it is a compact, wearable weapon system that can be folded up and carried like a backpack.

The Battle Axe features a large axe mounted on the front of the motorized weapon platform and uses the characteristic wind-up mechanism found in the 1988 Motorized Action Packs.

Importantly, Road Pig did not come with the Battle Axe, even though he appears operating it in the package artwork.

  • The Dutch name used for the item was Waaghals Strijdbijl, although the original English name is Dreadnok Battle Axe.

Collector Appeal 7.5/10

The Dreadnok Battle Axe is inexpensive compared with major G.I. Joe vehicles, but it is an interesting piece for collectors who want to complete the 1988 Motorized Action Pack series or build a Dreadnok display. Its unusual backpack/weapon design and motorized feature give it considerably more character than an ordinary accessory.
