G.I. Joe Retaliator Rescue Helicopter 1990

Overview

The G.I. Joe Retaliator was released by Hasbro in 1990 as part of the G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero toy line. This multi-purpose rescue and attack helicopter combines aerial combat features with equipment for recovering personnel and vehicles from dangerous situations.

The Retaliator was packaged with Updraft, its dedicated G.I. Joe pilot. Its distinctive rotor system, bomb-dropping mechanism and rear rescue claw make it one of the more feature-packed helicopters in the later vintage collection.

Recommended GIJoeForSale.com Price

For a clean, complete Retaliator with Updraft and its original accessories, I would suggest an initial asking price of €99.95, depending on condition.

• Incomplete: €24.95–€39.95

• Good condition: €39.95–€59.95

• Very good, mostly complete: €59.95–€79.95

• Complete with Updraft: €89.95–€119.95

A boxed example should be priced separately according to the condition of the box and the completeness of its contents.

Collector Appeal

The 1990 Retaliator is a desirable addition to a vintage G.I. Joe aircraft collection because it combines combat features with interactive rescue equipment. Its dedicated pilot, Updraft, and the numerous small components make completeness an important selling point for collectors.
