The R.P.V. (Remote Piloted Vehicle) was released in 1988 as part of the vintage G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero line. It is a compact reconnaissance and missile-support vehicle featuring a removable radar tracking pod and a remotely controlled missile launcher.

The R.P.V. was also released in 1989, with no major variations in the standard U.S. version.

European Version

The European R.P.V. is particularly interesting for collectors. The Belgian/Dutch release used different colors from the U.S. version, making the European version visually distinct. It was sold in Belgium and the Netherlands from 1990 and carried product code 6285.

Despite its relatively small size, the R.P.V. has several removable and functional components, including the radar pod, drone, nose cone and launch system.

The name Remote Piloted Vehicle fits the vehicle's fictional role: the R.P.V. is presented as a remotely operated battlefield vehicle with a radar system and drone capability.
